Here’s why you need to go see the hilarious one woman show – I AM [NOT] KANYE WEST

I AM [NOT] KANYE WEST runs as part of Natasha Brown’s POWER X RESISTANCE takeover week at the Bunker Theatre. The solo show is written and performed by Natasha Brown and directed by Abigail Sewell. It will run alongside a week of brilliant events including workshops and Q&A’s.

The comedy follows Tash – a young Black queer girl, in the world of university and ‘identity politics’. Tash is tired of being silenced and takes inspiration from the rapper infamously known for speaking exactly what is on his mind when he wants, how he wants, and where he wants. Yep, you guessed it – Kanye West.

When Tash decides to get involved in the student elections at her university, she realises the complexities of navigating life with the ethos and spirit of Ye.

I AM [NOT] KANYE WEST is a hilarious and provocative solo show that asks how much of ourselves are we willing to lose in order to win.

The play was first developed on Camden People’s Theatre’s ‘Starting Blocks’ development initiative and will be running at the Bunker Theatre March 2nd -7th. Grab your tickets here.
